Well I live in TN, south of Nashville. As you may have heard large portions of Nashville (and surrounding areas) are under water. So far 14 people are dead, Opryland Hotel is under 10' of water, most of downtown is between 5-20' of water, including LP field, the symphony centre & Country Music Hall of Fame. There's one country with absolutely no power, 1/2 the regions water supply is compromised and most schools in about 10 counties are closed.



The past 3 days have been the wettest, ever.



A lot of places wont be opened for months costing millions to the local economy and will put a lot of folks out of work temporarily.



Here we had water up to the door frame but it didn't get in. Several people I know have flooded yards but nothing too terrible.



One thing that really sucks is a lot of the places flooded weren't in a flood plain meaning the people living there couldn't get flood insurance.



Time will tell how things work out.

It's official, I'm approved for my disability! :D I should have everything within a month, back pay etc.



Talk about a relief. Not sure if I should faint, wee myself or scream lmao



All I can say is God is good. I applied May, 2008, had my hearing April, 2010 (which is a yr faster than normal) and was approved May, 2010...it can take up to 3 months to get the decision.



It's been a long and hard 2 years but now I'll have a monthly income, insurance, back pay and a lot of other things.

I suggest not fainting because you could hurt yourself. Don't wee yourself unless you have a pair of clean boxers/briefs/whatever and pants nearby. And the best option is to SCREAM YOUR HEAD OFF in excitement. Just make sure not to give anyone a heart attack!

Kinda sucks feeling like just an acquaintance of the person who's ring you're wearing.





On a more interesting note. As we've learned black holes aren't really black. No matter how big they all give off some radiation. Well BH's smaller than a mountain range (in mass) might actually glow. The smaller, the more radiation it gives off.



Just a neat bit of info.

Today may have been an amazing day. Given that it's a Saturday I'm just not sure.



I had my disability hearing about 2 weeks ago and while the judge didn't decide right there (which is rare for them to do anyway) my lawyer and everyone else said it was pretty much a done deal.



Now usually it takes a month+ to get the letter from the judge saying you were either approved or denied. In some cases it can be very rapid.



Today I got a phone call from a woman claiming she was from the Social Security Admin. Now it's a Saturday which seemed odd to me. She said that they needed to go over some information with me. She didn't ask me for my social, she knew my past employers, dates of employment, claims, address, bank account information etc. She knew pretty much everything including some things that no one knows except the gov and myself.



Well she told me that I had been approved for disability insurance and supplemental SS income.



It's rare but it does happen that you get called before you get your approval letter and sometimes you even get the money before you get the letter. I don't know if I should be uber excited or what. The only thing that worries me is that it is a Sat and last I checked the gov doesn't do much biz on Saturdays.



I'm calling my lawyer Monday to check on things but something tells me that all my problems (at least money problems) are over.



Any thoughts?

Definitely odd...I wouldn't jump to any conclusions until you talk to your lawyer, but i have my fingers (and toes) crossed for you :)

You know my thoughts. I was one of the ones that got a bunch of money placed into my account and was totally unaware. I can only hope, that this is the end of your money problems. I know from experience, the problems that stress, over bills can cause issue with your health. *fingers are crossed for you*

Sorry if anyone missed me yesterday I've been sick all day & night. Which has sorta put a kink in my weight gain plans. I might have eaten 400 calories, maybe.



Anyway I really hope I feel better tomorrow.



On Thursday my brother and I had a massive fight. Ever since he started staying here (Dec 09) and has been acting the way he has I've kept my contact with him pretty sparse. I've done all I can to help him, to show him he's loved, etc and yet...nothing. So when he broke yet another rule I informed mom (since she's the one letting him stay here) and she had a talk with him. Now, normally it ends there but this day he actually wanted my opinion on the matter....so I gave it.



It felt seriously good to get everything off my chest and now he knows my thoughts completely, free of any "sugar coating". I just hope it did some good. The whole thing lasted maybe 20 minutes and after his attitude has been different.



Now, if only I can get a certain someone else to stop doing certain things and to act a bit more respectful I could feel a hell of a lot better about my life in general.
