I just got done with a 3 mile walk, the first time I've been able to walk that far in 2 years. It feels good :) Granted my feet, legs and back feel like crap and I'll probably wake up tomorrow in tears but it was worth it. There's nothing I love more than taking a nice walk at night around downtown. The past few days have been rather hard at home so being able to get out and be with my thoughts was very pleasant.
Ok so I live a block away from the local university (MTSU, 20,000 students) and it seems as though they're having some drumming competition or outdoor practice. All day long "bam bang, bodda boom" I like percussion, a lot actually but not hour after hour of pretty much the same few routines.
I wanna kill them! haha
Some good news, I now have access to 25,000 foreign coins. The owner is going to pull out all the silver coins and all the Europeans coins pre-1950 for me. As much as I'd LOVE to be able to buy them all I can't but if you'd like to have some let me know.
How's this for saving the planet.
My local electric company is asking citisens to pay an extra $4/month for a 150 kWh block of electricity produced from renewable sources. Sounds decent right?
I live in Tennessee, I get my electricity from TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority). The TVA is one of Americas largest energy producers, providing electricity to parts of 8 States with a yearly revenue of $10.38 billion.
The TVA has:
11 fossil fueled plants
29 hydroelectric plants (via 46 dams)
3 nuclear power plants (6 generators)
6 gas combustion turbine plants
Their "green" power comes from:
15 solar generators (384 kW)
1 wind farm (29 MW)
1 waste-derived methane plant (4MW)
Now to put this into perspective the Kingston TN coal fired plant (the one that had an earthen dam break in 2008 spilling 1 BILLION gallons of wet coal ash into several tributaries of the Tennessee River), produces 1.7 GW or 51 times the amount produced by all of their green-renewable sources. That's just 1 out of 49 non-renewable plants.
Sure it's good they're producing green power but something tells me they could do a hell of a lot better than what they are.
Grrr...
The nerve in my neck that's all mucked up is making the entire right side of my head ache. My jaw feels like it's being crushed.
My "dad" actually had something similar except it was on his left side. He had to have surgery to fix it and now there's a literal hole in the base if his skull only covered by a layer of skin.

eat more burger king.
I am still so happy that I found that information and image on my eye sight (read the previous entry).
It looks like I've gained some weight back and now I'm at 125lbs :D
The weather here has been amazing! Highs in low 80's and lows in the mid 60-70's makes it perfect for nice walks.
I had a dr appointment today (nothing special just a check up) but I wasn't able to go because I didn't have a ride. It had to be rescheduled and now it wont be until Aug 20! Which does suck because I would have liked to have gotten some things taken care of, but I'll survive.
For whatever reason I haven't had the inspiration to do any writing, physics, poetry or anything else. I have thought about charging $1 for every question people ask me. They get information that would be uber hard to find and I get a few bucks here and there....that's fair right?
Oh, got my Nazi silver today..so pretty.
Ever wonder what someone else sees? How they perceive the world? Well here is your chance. Please, read on.
It seems as though I have a mix of Protanopia and Deuteranopia to a lesser degree (aka colour-blindness). I've known for some time that I perceived colours differently and often mislabeled them but because I could see a colours constituent colour make up (such as pink, made from red and white) I didn't think it was real colour-blindness however, as time goes on and I learn more, things make more sense.
To give you a better understanding of what I see take a look at this image:
COMMENTS
Once again...
Not being color blind myself I can't understand...but image the bottom image being 50% blurrier....that is my vision without glasses. Now image the bottom image with glasses but only 4 feet away...that is my vision with glasses on.
weird , ya know how in quantum mechanics they say that the observer changes things at the quantum level, i wonder if it in any way differs for an observer with colorblindness or has a different effect ?
"How do you cap CO2 emissions? The same way we did CFCs." WTF?!?
Ok fine, except we don't exhale CFCs and neither does any other animal on the planet. CFCs, for the most part, are consciously created or have to be a natural product of specific chemical processes, CO2 on the other hand is produced pretty much anytime carbon is mixed with oxygen. Carbon, one of the most abundant elements in the universe and oxygen the thing that makes up 21% of our atmosphere.
Yes we need to lower our CO2 emissions but capping them will do nothing but wreck the economies of the world, force undeveloped and developing nations to remain poor causing them to continue to use CHEAP, AVAILABLE carbon sources for energy and so much more.
Putting caps on things like carbon, and others in general, is one of the worst things you can do for the economy, the people that depend on an active economy and the planet that depends on happy people who are able to use their minds to come up with better ways of preserving our environment without running civilisation into the ground.

In my opinion the whole "third gender/third sex" subculture is utter self-indulgent, self-delusional, ignorant crap.
Transgendered people are not normal, they are genetic anomalies, sorry but that's the case. I am left handed blue eyed both of these are passive genes. I also have a medical disorder which many suspect is genetic in origin. What does that mean? That means I have genetically errors, I am not "normal" but I am also not some new type of human.
There are 3 types of transgendered individuals.
1) Those who are genetic defects (real trans. individuals)
2) Those who were abused and/or mentally damaged. These people need intensive and supportive help to over-come such issues and become the person they were meant to be.
3) Are people who are highly confused, self-hating and/or doing it on purpose for some other reason.
There is no natural, legitimate reason for a person to think they were born in the wrong body or to pursue such activities with the exception of genetic disorder.
Most trans. are people with severe psychological problems that have nothing to do with genetics. A minority of trans. are those who were born with a genetic disorder causing them to be born as a predominantly male/female while truly being the other.
This entire topic is very complected but the truth is if you are transgendered you are not normal nor are you a "new" type of human. Those born that way had no say in the matter and deserve whatever help they can get to make their lives better, but like I said before the bulk have major issues and are caught in a cycle of self-delusion brought on by abuse, their own thinking and/or promoted by a society that has no foundation in either ethics, morality, medical science or reason.
Now, I understand that "third gender" encompasses more than transsexuals but the general nature of all this covers all parts.
Slam me with "hate mail" all you want but it's how I feel.
COMMENTS
Agreed.
Sadly I think Octavia Butler is partially to blame for the movement. In the late 80's/early 90's she wrote a book about a third gender that further completed humans and our hatred of this race (as they were aliens here). Does that mean the fiction is correct? No, it simply means that there are (for what ever reason) thousands of individuals that identify with this expression of self.
While I don't think it is my business, I do find it incredibly sad as I've seen several enter into what is perhaps the first loving and healthy relationship they have ever had- and then *BANG* this identification starts, and it completely destroys their happiness and self-confidence. Not all cases are thus, but typically in the ones I've seen, each and every expression of themselves has been to negative affect. Perhaps one day we will be more able in assistance so that the expression is not such a drastic, traumatic event.
I must say that i am a little surprised X. Not knowing if there is some medical or genetic condition, because I am ignorant of such things, I would presume that most cases of gender confusion were lodged somewhere in the chemical or psychological arenas. From a psyche-hobbyist many who claim things that is shocking at out for help by way of attention from others. But someone who only ten years ago would have had a very hard time many places and thought to have mental issues because you enjoy male bodies over female, I would have figured you to be more compassionate towards these folks. Again, I am ignorant of such things so forgive my groping for some suitable reply :)
First let me say I have NO issues whatsoever with those who were born hermaphrodites or with other genetic defects that caused them to be "born in the wrong body". And I hope they're able to get the medical attention they need to live full and productive lives without having to be forced into a body (they physical outside part) that their genes and minds say is wrong.
There was never any real medical science that said homosexuals were unnatural or had a genetic disorder. Now many homosexuals do have psychological problems and they need help to become the person they were meant to be which isn't always gay.
I am a male, I'm very proud to be a male and I have no desire whatsoever to change that. I just happen to like other males, something which is common throughout human history. The "third sex" debate is something relatively new and what they use as "historical precedence" are either misconstrued from legit. cultural norms (how some cultures lived, promoted, upheld etc homosexuality) or are misrepresentations of things like forced castration, something that isn't natural, ethical or unique other than it's barbarity.
I remind you that there are 2 main types of trans. those born that way and those not. Those not are confused and in many cases delusional and full of crap. I know a few males who have expressed interest in "gender reassignment" and the only reason for that is because they enjoy drag and think men are pigs. They don't have any genetic issues and they have a history of behavioral problems (apart from psych). So they need help, not surgery.
Have I been a little clearer at least?
I finally got to sleep but it seems I was actually sitting up in bed asleep. So now my neck is positively stiff with nice radiating pains goings down into my neck, shoulders and back. Don't you hate it when that happens?
Edward Scissorhands was on TV today and of course I watched it. It was the first time I had seen it since the 90's. A nice reminder of the past. Now I'm watching a show about the Spanish Royal Family.
Oh My Holy Lord God Almighty! I am eating Lavender chocolate and it is AMAZING! It's pure creamy chocolate with a mix of lavender and lime blossom extract, so bloody wonderful. Ugh, I'm bored. Talk to me peoples! lol
Thanks to a friend on here I'll be getting a new coin. It's not the most rare or special but I haven't been able to get one in a long while so I'm uber happy about it, probably a bit too happy but hey I love coins! haha
I also bought the DVDs of Dune and Children of Dune. I have the VHS but this is 2009 after-all. I really love those films.

Well I'm selling the rest of my foreign coins and paper money. It's about 250 individual items and they'll be split up into around 5 different types of lots.
On one hand I really enjoy things like eBay but on the other I hate having to write out specific details over and over and having a relatively small audience. While millions use eBay (and other similar sites) only 5-40 people actually view your item. I'd much prefer having an actual business with a website etc doing this where I could have ads, e-mail lists etc and not have to rely on someone else.
So here's to luck :) Now buy something people! lol

I just made the most perfect snack EVER!!!!!
Usually when I make bacon and sausage I take bread and toast it in the skillet with the grease, soo yummy. Today however I was out of bread, so what on Earth was I to do?
I took a handful of multi-grain Wheat Thins and a handful of plain ruffled chips and threw them into the skillet with all that lovely oil. I left them in there for around a minute, stirred them about and then took them out and placed them on some paper towels to get off any extra oil and let em dry.
They are like small crunchy bits of Heaven!!!!!!
So freakin good.
It amazes me that I can eat and eat and eat things like this and yet still stay so small :) Makes me happy.
Now, go make you some and tell me what you thought.

WOW talk about unexpected! I went to the local store to get a few things, walked in said hello to the clerk and she asked how I was doing. I told her fine then she said "I'm getting tired of people, they come in here and rob you blind!" So I simply said that I was sorry and didn't expect that would go on in the store (this particular one has decent security and is heavily trafficked) She went on to say "Well that's what happens when you get a bunch of them in here"
She continued with
"Stupid niggers, should drive them to the sea and let em swim back to Africa!"
Needless to say I was rather shocked at her willingness to share such thoughts with a customer and further shocked to find out she was quite serious. There wasn't much for me to say really given the situation so I paid for my things and left. If there had been other people in the store I would be sending a letter to her managers but since I was the only one there I won't. There are a lot of opinions that I don't agree with, obviously, but I rarely feel the need to get involved especially when they're not going to make much difference and coming from the cashier of a gas station.
Be it 1709, 2009 or 2309 some things never change.
At least I got my chocolate :)

Sometimes we pay a high price for chocolate.
Aww, not many people would be kind-hearted enough to give us a ride to the sea... Erm, is she aware Africa is across an ocean? Nothing worse when the KKK cardholders don't have GPS
Lol what kind of chocolate, the mortal kind or the bars? lol jk
But yeah I don't discriminate or would never think of such way about any ethnic group, but i work in a grocery store and I can say they(the vast majority of the ones that purchase from the store) are pretty mean and savages, even when you are cordial and helpful, if you don't have what they are looking for they become quite irritant.
I was watching the movie "Philadelphia" and started doing some research on the history, sub-cultures etc of AIDS. When I came across an article on "Bugchasers and Gift Givers". I've actually met someone like that but reading about it made me just as sick.
A "bugchaser" is a person who actively seeks out those infected with HIV/AIDS for the purpose of getting infected. A "gift giver" is a person who actively seeks out those without HIV for the purpose of infecting them.
Many in the homosexual community have a sense of inevitability that they'll get AIDS one day or another so why not at least have some 'control' over when and how you get it. Some with AIDS seek out healthy partners to infect because they think it will "bond" them for life. Both groups tend to romanticize the disease in a similar way teens romanticize suicide.
Although I can understand their mind-set on some level (the way one might understand the motives of a terrorist) I still find it absolutely disgusting and sad. While HIV/AIDS is still highly prevalent in homosexual populations there is a 70% chance of not contracting the disease (using normal sexual behaviour which doesn't always include safe-sex practices). If you were to always use safe-sex practices the chances of infection fall well below 2%. (there is still a risk simply because condoms are not 100% effective and the potential for error after a single 3 month HIV test). (note that the risk for infection is the SAME for all populations gay/straight who are sexually active)
Anyway's I just thought I'd share that little bit.
Back to thinking about my tattoos :)

I've heard about both kinds of people, but didn't know the 'titles' for them. Yeah... I agree it's disgusting and sad. Save yourself and save someone else. BE as safe as you can.
Remember in the early 90's when some HIV+ lunatics started jabbing people with hypos? Oh, and finishing the entry with "Back to thinking about my tattoos :)" LOL!! You nut!
I'm thinking I want a tattoo or 3. One of course an image of Dabbler being thrown over a fire :D
Seriously though, I think I'd like to have one that goes from my right shoulder and upper arm to my chest. Maybe the Blue Rose of Dalriada on my lower left abdomen and something across the small of my back. They'd be black of course except the Rose.
So much to think about.........

Oh stop your whining! You get so bent out of shape when a city pays for the security of Michael Jacksons memorial and yet turn a blind eye to $3 trillion in spending passed this year alone as well as "cap and trade" and idiotic environmental measures which will do nothing but bankrupt not only our broke nation but yourselves.
Do you know why LA had to spend $4 million on MJ? Because they have the legal and ethical responsibility to protect the 100,000 people that showed up. Never mind the fact that the Jackson family, AEG and others paid for the actual services, additional security and have offered to help the city out.
What happened today was not special treatment in any form. Michael Jackson gave $50 million to charity, sold 750 million songs, in the past week his website has received nearly 500,000 comments and of the 17,500 tickets GIVEN away some 1 million people signed up for them. He was more than just a pop star and he is perhaps the most famous person to have lived in over 1,000 years.
It didn't matter if they only held a private service for family and friends thousands would have showed up all across the city, nation and world. And who's fault would it have been if things went wrong with the crowds? According to some of you it would have been the families fault for not controlling the free wills of people who wanted to pay tribute to a man who ignited a spark in so many.
Look, no matter who it is, MJ or any other famous/important person whenever large crowds are expected (invited or not) it's the responsibility of the city/state to make sure the roads, buildings, and crowds are safe.
It can cost over $1 million just to provide protection, food, hotels etc for the President when he travels anywhere out of D.C for any purpose and yet you scream bloody murder when a city takes it upon themselves to help insure the safety of tens of thousands of people and the continued function of a million person city. (btw the GDP of LA is $698 Billion or 174,500x the amount spent on the service and receives $5.4 billion in taxes or 1,380x amount spent)
Nevermind the fact that all these visitors who were kept safe also infused the city and businesses of LA with $4-5 million in additional revenue.
I get that tons of media and taxes going to the story of a person like Anna Nichole or Brittney is rather absurd. Michael Jackson however is no Brittney. Today wasn't just about a man but it was also about the millions who loved him and the effect he has had on planet Earth for the past 40 years.
According to the law he was an innocent man and in the eyes of so many today provided an outlet and a connection for sadness and love and friends, family and a global community.
Michael Jackson's memorial service was a global affair for man who's soul and talent touched more people in his 42 year career than any other and a celebration of what he had created, literally billions of fans and the careers of so many who came after him.
So hush.
COMMENTS
So hush is right!
Thank you for stating this in a way where I doubt it can be argued with :-)
Facts tend to stop peoples bitching quite fast.
Shoot, you'd better hush, X! Anna Nicole is no Britney!
While I agree the expense was necessary for public safety, the Office of the President does not spend that much money on trips. I know, I worked with those folks for four years. Most trips top at 100k, very much like the Secretary of Defense does. And they are the leaders of the free world, slight difference. People with the nukes and economy that holds in thrall the rest of humanity is not a fair assessment of funds compared to MJ. And the GDP is spent on things like roads, sewage and water treatment, you know, the things that we all need to live in a large city. Little things like that.
Not trying to hijack the thread, just wanted to share some facts.
Yeah *most* trips. I know for a fact as well that when Bush went to Africa security alone cost $1 million. Not all expenses are covered (or paid for by) in the presidential travel budget. Note I did say *can* cost..
AEG also gave the city $1 mill. The city spent $49,000 on lunches they ordered from 80 miles away from LA. $4 mill to protect hundreds of thousands of ppl is worth it and the money came out of their "extraordinary expenses" budget not from anything like roads etc.
BTW where have you been? I haven't seen you in my journal in a while, got me worried you hated me lol
I don't hate you for sure. You have very insightful entries. I'll visit more :) BTW we still have to get together and have you go shopping with me to help pick out some clothing. You've got great taste my friend.
I had a rather interesting 4th of July, or as my brother's wife called it "Happy almost-Independence Day". For the first time in some 30 years it rained, tons, and threw everyones schedules off. My brother picked me up and we grabbed a few fireworks (nothing like the massive shows I used to put on since we're broke and the weather lol) and went to his house. We had hoped the rain would let up some at least to let his kids (my niece and nephew) light off some things. The rain never really stopped. So, we started shooting things off from the kitchen and living room, filled the place up with smoke and had a really fun time lol.
I ended up spending the night over there which was fine I suppose but I didn't get much rest and when I woke up I felt my hips and back go *SNAP* such is life.
Earlier that day my biological father called and wanted to take me out to dinner (for the first time in around 3 years). I told him no. If a grown man can't spend more than a day or two with his only child every several years then he can kiss my ass. I have a very unpleasant relationship with my dad and I had worked really hard to remove myself from possible harm. His calling did nothing but bring up a lot of bad things.
My mom told me that perhaps he had changed and was truly sorry and that maybe this was the time we could build a relationship. I told her the way a person acts for over 20 years is the way they really are. Even being forced to decide between my own protection and my natural desire to have a father was a violation in itself and I don't want anything to do with him.
Today, the 6th, I went to the doctor. My grandfather took me and we talked more than we had in years, it was really nice. He likes to take walks but doesn't like to alone and usually he can't find anyone to go with him, I told him to give me a call at any time. My appointment was unremarkable with the exception that I had gained a few lbs since last month and that they finally seem to be willing to treat me like a legit patient and human and less like a cash cow. I got home around 1PM and slept off and on.
I just finished watching "Knowing" with Nick Cage. Personally I think they could have done a lot better but the graphics near the end were pretty nice and they used the story of "Ezekiel's Wheel" in a more overt fashion than is usually seen.
My usual schedule of sleeping for most of the day and being up at night is really starting to bore me and in a way it makes me feel trapped. One reason I sleep during the day is because I have nothing to do and no one to see so I sleep to keep from going mad. I really, really don't like it.
A few days ago I made a chart of all the narcotic medications I've taken. Since 2007 I've been on 8 different meds, most for pain. I made the chart 1) because I'm obsessed with numbers and 2) to keep track of things like pain intensity and tolerance. I was on oxycodone for 1 full year and had to increase my dosage 6 times! I've been on methadone for 8 months and haven't had to increase it at all which makes me very happy. My weight chart which I started a week ago hasn't changed any lol.
I really wish I either had a job or 1-2 people I could see every day or so. I haven't worked since 2007 and I haven't had even a basic social life since the middle of 2008. Not fun!
Well, I think that's all that has happened recently. Can't wait to get my new kitty :)

Nuts? Yep...
It's my birthday and I am reading your journals. That would sum up bored.
My parents would agree with you.
I got tired of pretending to be nice about all of the
little things they didn't know and finally snapped
at them: "If you see me move in with another male, I
can honestly tell you now...He is gay and his lover will
be living in the house with us. So, stop with the kids
thing...I am not having any!"
Damn you AYW! Now I want to go prospecting!
I'm both a lover of nature and of nature's goods. As I was telling AYW when I lived in the country the area was known for both it's beauty and natural resources. My land had proven iron and nickel ore and had signs of petrol (and further down natural gas would come out of a certain river). Anywho I had tried to secure the rights to the property surrounding mine but it wasn't to be. So now I'm a little poorer and the land a little greener...I guess it wasn't a terrible trade-off.
I still have the first bucket of iron ore, you could literally take a magnet and run it across the ground picking up chunks of iron...pretty neat really.
COMMENTS
Yup he is already excited about going prospecting... and has my 12 year old all excited right along with him.
Being the insomniac that I am I decided to give natural compounds a try. I bought some Valerian root extract (100 capsules for $4) and took one about an hour before I wanted to go to sleep. It worked! lol
This particular root acts basically like a natural Valium and is used to help with anxiety and sleep issues. I don't know how it works exactly but I do know that it works and that's all I care about.
So if you have a real issue getting restful sleep and don't want to take an expensive or potentially addictive sleeping pill (such as Ambien) then talk to your doctor about trying Valerian root.
*It's important to discuss taking any natural substance with your doctor if you have any medical condition (including pregnancy) or take ANY medications as they can have severe, even fatal, interactions.
