There are different types of anorexia. Some are just psychological while others are caused by medications and then there's anorexia caused by certain physical diseases.

Medical anorexia generally dramatically lowers a person's apatite, can make them feel full after just a few bites or because of being sick you can't or don't want to eat.

Anorexia of any form can be extremely dangerous and depending on the situation can be a pretty hard thing to overcome.

I've always had issues with my weight. I'm afraid of getting fat, don't like to eat in front of people and generally would prefer to eat as little as possible. However, it was never so bad as to prevent me from eating what I should until I began getting sick and dealing with my condition.

Between my disability and medications I am 95% positive that I have medically induced anorexia and it's scary.

The most I ever weighed was 136lbs but since I've been sick the most was 128 and as low as 108lbs..I'm 6'1"!

It has been a very rough ride and I'm starting to get really knocked down because of it. The last 2 years or so I've bounced back and forth from around 113 and 125lbs, right now I'm 115 (down from 120 last month).

I don't know how to deal with it and eating itself has become a chore, one that I'd rather not do because it either makes me sick at times or is just so hard to actually do it, at least eating in healthy amounts.

The idea of having to hit 2,000-2,500 cal/day puts me off the desire to eat even if I know I should or deep down really want to. On an avg day I might get to 1,000cal. I really don't know what to do and I'm getting very depressed because of it, not to mention freaked out.

I've asked my dr in the past several times to give me a medicine that would increase my apatite but she would always say no.

I just want this all to end so badly and get back to being able to want to eat a normal high calorie diet. Idk how much longer I can deal with this both mentally and physically.

I am sorry that you have this kind of problem. Have you tried a clinic that deals with eating disorders? I think that having folk understand how you feel and be able to offer constructive advice may help you to decide how to tackle any problems, or even just be a sympathetic ear when you need it.

What I do know is that aiming for a high cal diet is so off-putting that the eating goes in the other direction so I would suggest that to aim for just eating what you can in the meantime is the best way to tackle this for now.

Small portions, however small are better than none and I think that favourite foods rather than what is deemed to be healthy foods are a good enough way to keep going until you have the strength to face food that maintains your ideal body-weight.

Take care :P

Im so sorry to hear this...*frowns*

People dont get that under eating is just as bad as over eating and that it's hard struggle.

I had a close friend who was heavy and when he started taking certain types of medicine his weight went down dramatically. Sad, part was that nobody (especially doctors) wanted to adress it until he was skin and bones. As he kept losing weight it became almost like an adiction to him. To lose even more. Slowly but surely he started to get back to a normal diet and even started to lift weights...

I just have a lot of questions. One question I have deals with Islam and peace.

If Islam is a religion of peace and most Muslims want freedom & equal human rights for all then how do you explain this recent poll of Muslims in predominately Muslim nations taken by Pew Global?

Perhaps I should revive either the cult of Bacchus or Elagabalus. Could be fun lol

Cleansing the country? I'm not sure who it is that you heard saying this, but I have a feeling it might have been Hitler.

Nope it was an ad CODE Pink ran on the Muslim Brotherhood's English website. I've got a snap shot of the ad, just didn't care to take the time to upload it.

CP is a group dedicated to "peace".
