Here's something funny/a bit true I ran across on the net about 'liberals'.
~~~~
Definition of a liberal
* You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.
* You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.
* You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of communists.
* You have to believe that there was no art before federal funding.
* You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical changes in climate and more by soccer moms driving SUVs.
* You have to believe that 3rd-grader teachers are qualified to teach your kids about sex.
* You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but PETA activists do.
* You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.
* You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.
* You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.
* If there is going to be "hateful" speech, ONLY Liberals and the Lib Media are allowed to say it; otherwise you are a racist.
* You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.
GOD BLESS AMERICA............ oops, can't do that either!
I have seen both... A lot...
Scary huh?
I'd have to say yes to that Bones...
Ya,it is a strange journal to say the least.
Wow, some people just don't know how to be nice.
Usually I don't include names but I'm tired and don't really care about some n00b trying to "make a point" with her mighty rate.
From the bottom up :)
I don't know what your problem is. All I did was ask nicely why you rated me a 5. I haven't said anything rudely at all.
You're new here so I'll be nice.
Good bye.
You could have done that, without repeating what I said.
A simple;" you may be right." or " you're right." would have sufficed.
No need to get rude. I was just saying that you were right about your layout.
Well they do not show on my computer, Ive visited others with scroll boxes.
and thank you for REPEATING, that I just said it may be the layout I have chosen.
Well for one I never said I didn't like people who have a lot on their profiles I just think it's better to use scroll boxes. And my profile does indeed have them, 5 of them.
No one has ever told me they didn't show up and I've had the same profile design for over a year so it's a problem with your own browser or layout.
No, You're the only one Ive rated a five. Unless it is the layout on the site I have chosen, that made it seem you have no scroll boxes.
Um I only have 1 profile and I've used 4-5 scroll boxes. I think you've mistaken me for someone else.
for someone who doesnt like profiles who have ALOT on them , you seem to go against that and have alot on your own. You suggest scroll boxes, but do not use themself. A bit of a back step, wouldnt you say?
May I ask why you rated me a 5?
You're too nice, Xzavier. :/
It's her layout that's the problem, so she should have taken that into consideration when rating. Really. It's her layout that makes your profile look that way, not you.
Noobs these days. Pfft.
Yup u were way too nice dear ...
anyone else think another password reset would be nice ?
Aww, well I've been blocked because someone thought giving them a 10 was bad. O.o So I think noobs just need to understand more about VR before they get all snotty.
IDK about you but Astroboy is soooo HOT!! lol
What about MegaMan?
Some depictions perhaps :P
He's hot. Who doesn't love some slick black hair/metal covering?
Sadness, in the last week I've lost 2 people who had my journal on their favs list. Come back!!!
I try having a good mix of things in my journal and I like knowing people enjoy reading it.
These definitions seem a little stilted.
But if you want to get stereotypical, a liberal will fight for your rights as a gay man before a conservative would. I also seem to notice conservatives want less government *except* where they want it.
I support civil rights, I support freedom of religion (because I don't want some one else forcing me to believe something I don't), I eat meat (support hunters), and I like gas-hog muscle cars.
I am a Christian, heterosexual, veteran. I don't fit in any of the generalizations. Too liberal for conservatives/too conservative for the liberals... All depends on the person's angle.
It's just a joke guys lol.
But....
I despise far left liberals with every fiber of my being and I'm nowhere near a fan of Repubs either, at least the party.
The government is not the answer to our problems. The Constitution is a dead document, it isn't living and we need to remember that. It isn't any sides role to interpret it to fit some agenda. If we want the government to have new sweeping power we have to give it that power in the form of an amendment, not an executive order or some legislation passed by a simply majority. That's the whole problem with this idiotic notion of pure democracy.
It plainly says if something isn't spelled out in the Constitution then it's left up to the States, end of story. And the States can't pass laws that go against the federal Constitution either, even if their State Const. permits it (such as equal rights). We learned that lesson with segregation.
As for being gay, that has nothing to do with law and everything to do with personal opinion. Legally I'm allowed to get married in almost every State but the opinions of others have rammed through unconstitutional laws.
I know it is a jokish entry, I'm just commenting. But I do think 'gay' has a lot to do with the law when there are so many laws being passed and not passed based on this 'personal' thing.
I've never fully belonged to any group. I can't buy into any specific club 100%. So I vote for the person that is for the *most* of my concerns. That's all anyone can do.
I would have to say I was 83% sure it was a joke at the time I commented. Although I would have to agree with you, either extreme right or left is annoying.
Mainly because those are the people that will not listen to logical arguments and have their minds made up for them based on what their opposition says about the subject.
