Issues- Prison Populatios and Capital Punishment

The problem is the philosophy of criminalization and not recovery. A vast number of inmates are there for petty and re-curring crimes such as drug usage and other minor violations. If we would uphold the Constitution and enforce personal liberties we have far fewer people in jails. No one ever killed anybody by occasionally smoking pot etc. (I don't use drugs I find them highly offensive but my opinions are not what matters. What matters is the law of liberty and the pure facts.)

The second part is our system in general. We imprison people but don't help them over come the reason why they are there. From drugs to petty thefts we do not offer enough programmes to help them recover. And beyond that, once they leave they have no job skills and know little more than the "street-life". We should lower the number of jailable offenses but those we do have should be coupled with recovery and educational programmes.

As for capital punishment, I find nothing wrong with ending the life of those who committed violent rapes and murders (personal experience here). The real crime is costing tax payers millions each year to keep the lives of those who would rather kill than leave innocent people alone. Certain criminals can not be helped with programmes. This is a nation of 300,000,000 with thousands on death row and yet we only uphold the will of the people by only carrying out a few cases each year.

Capital punishment and other forms of punishment are left up to the Sovereign States per the US Constitution. Banning forms of punishment are illegal regardless of personal opinions and definitely regardless of international laws. Although nations should work together, help each other and fight mutual issues in the end no nation should be subject to the rules of another, even if we find them reprehensible. Going down the road of global governance, no matter the intent, only goes to weaken national sovereignty and will of the local populations. If there is something that needs to be changed it is up to the local governments and people, that is the way of liberty, sovereignty and self-determination.

In the end it comes down to problems inherent in our society which must be worked out, lack of appropriate programmes to deal with recurring criminals and not caring out the laws already well established.

I spent Monday and Tuesday with my doctors and we have decided that I have Shy-Drager also known as Multiple System Atrophy. Its a progressive degenerative autonomic disorder similar to MS but has an avg. life expectantcy of 6-10 years. Due to the amount of time it has taken figuring this out I've had a few months to get used to the idea and I must say I'm rather indifferent about it.

My recent MRI shows about a dozen or so "spots" and I'll get some pictures of them up on my profile to go with the older ones.

I have decided not to take any radical or aggressive treatment for it since it would only delay the inevitable by a few months but at the cost of tens of thousands. So I just took the few meds I needed to continue a rather decent lifestyle. Thankfully, since I don't have insurance, the meds only cost about $400 a month total. I am also blessed that I only have to take 10 pills a day, 4 of them are the same kind. The reason that is a blessing is with most illnesses like this you end up taking 15-30 pills a day so I'm happy with just 10.

I'm still jobless but I've gotten over my depression (mostly) so now I have a better outlook and can focus more of my time on looking for a job instead of dealing with the depression.

On the political landscape it seems I am now the weapon of choice for the anti-Ron Paul people. I've refuted time and time again claims that I am racist and/or a Nazi but they don't care and continue to equate Southern Heritage with evil. Since I am a regional "public" figure there is little I can do to stop them, but it doesn't matter because their claims only go to prove how ignorant and idiotic they really are.

Also I've been able to get some regular sleep and I've gained about 6lbs which puts me at around 128lb.

Until Next time- X
