Female vampires have always been alluring creatures of the night. Their sensuous, graceful forms define the sexuality and beauty of vampires, as only girls know how. We imagine these erotic beauties of our dreams crawling across our beds, as they seek intimacy with us, their powers of seduction perfected over the centuries. When near enough to bite she bares her fangs, designed for drinking blood, and we are then at her mercy. The female vampire embodies a curious mix of blood lust and physical pleasure. Even though we expect them to have perfect bodies, beyond the physical attraction, the female factor of the preternatural domain remains very much a mystery.
Vampires are 300 years old in Western literature, and female vampires have featured in fiction for nearly as long, so why have female vampires not enriched our mystic lore as much as the male vampire? Over the centuries, how have female vampires managed to captivate our minds so much but keep their deep and dark sexual secrets from us?
Sexual Equality
It seems there is very little equality in the immortal world, because when it comes to female vampires in literature, there are few strong characters to grace the pages of fiction. In the classic stories forming the basis of Gothic Horror, the first vampires in literature were males, the stories written by men, and appealing to an audience celebrating the vampire’s lust for a helpless woman’s blood. In recent years, the writers are women, presenting romance with supernatural themes, and targeting a female audience, so most vampires remain male. It’s not difficult to guess why the male vampire is so popular, when a powerful male character, representing unbound sexual potential appeals to men, who want to be that bad boy, and women wanting to find and attain eternal love through the perfect partner.
If we have to blame one factor on the diminution of the female vampire, it is the powerful force of film. Cinematography molded the vampire of the 20th century like no other media. Words once sufficed to contrive an image in our minds, but with the motion picture we saw the vampire for the first time, and fell in love with this creature of the night. In the beginning, there was only a male vampire, but as movies reinterpreted the theme of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula,” female vampires appeared and took on the mantel of servant. These eternal females claim wife status, yet they are less than the male in all aspects, including their supernatural properties
Vampire Wives
With a vampire male as the main immortal being, any female vampires present in a story suffer relegation in their minor supporting roles. The female qualities considered weaknesses of us humans, likewise plague the female vampire. She acts less capable, or easily falls victim to the wiles of a male vampire. She is weaker, and in some cases so weak, as to be easily controlled or destroyed by human hunters. I only ask—why? For me, the same properties of immortality are necessarily found in the vampire whether they are male or female, so both genders should possess the same or comparable powers.
There is a measure of sexual inequality for the way most female vampires are portrayed as lesser beings compared to any male vampire. It seems almost degrading the way they fawn after their male counterparts, and if their behavior is not completely servile, there is a certain palpable fear the female vampire expresses in the presence of a supposedly more powerful male. These irresistible, immortal beauties have only their sexuality to offer, and their sexual appetites are insatiable, but with limitations to their vampire nature, the eternal females of night become ever more mysterious.
Female Control
I personally believe it is about time the female vampire emerged from the shadows so we can fully appreciate her majesty. The process is not intended to divest the female vampire of any mystery endowed her over the centuries, because part of a woman’s allure rests in her powers of intrigue. In revealing the female vampire, I wish to tear away any vestiges of weaknesses cast upon her as a result of her gender. Yes, she is female, and she is so perfect a specimen to personify the mistress of every pleasure sensation, but we cannot forget, she remains a supernatural female.
When we fantasize about the vampire female, we depict her with a soft, curved figure, a seductive walk, and a delicate touch, but these are all aspects of her physical manifestation. What we see of the female vampire is only a part of her powers to seduce, powers to make us her willing victims. But we are not her only victims. Her charm would also captivate the male vampire and hold him in awe long enough for her to take him under her control.
Vampire Sexual Secrets
In my novel, female vampires are all-powerful, and due to their abilities, wield more power than the males. Through their sexuality, the female vampires control the forces of nature, and therefore command great respect. Using special sexual techniques, the male vampire can liberate her power to use for himself, and thereby assumes command of the natural world through her. The easiest way for him to demonstrate any real power is during the sex he has with females. His seduction of the female vampire, is the key to his supremacy over all other males.
Endowed with super-human strength, my female vampires are not fearful of anything other than another vampire female. The most powerful females are those mortal women who married a male vampire and changed into an immortal. The vampire marriage ritual transforms the human into a perfect creature, and modifies her love for him into her supernatural powers. The more women a male vampire marries, the more female power he has access to. In my novel, wives of the vampire are not weak, subordinates to their vampire husband.
By why are my females so powerful? I believe it is vital for the vampire species. Vampires capable of supernatural feats, and demonstrating this power over us, create in our imagination a force we find compelling. A powerful female vampire makes for a powerful male, and our vampires must be more powerful than us if our vampire fantasies will continue to thrive.
The Vampire Lust kisses go beyond the Sexual Kisses I have already described. They are distinguished by vampires from all other kissing techniques by their intensity and intimacy. Vampires know what sexual pleasures they can derive from the Lust kisses and with whom they can share the sensual gratification. Because of the way the Lust kisses can substitute sexual intercourse, they have no true equivalents in the kisses we practice.
The Lust kisses derive their name from the way they induce powerful almost irresistible sexual impulses. For vampires lust is a force they know cannot be subdued and has no limit to its pleasure.
Achieving the Lust kisses is also beyond the limit of human anatomy. Most Lust kisses require elaborate tongue work but the vampire tongue is more than an erogenous zone. The male vampire has a tongue correlating to his unique physiology, and he easily achieves a sexual conclusion with oral sex above the waistline of the Lust kisses. Using oral techniques described in the vampire manuals of love, female vampires use these sexual secrets to derive the heights of pleasure using only the Lust kisses.
The Vampire Lust kisses form basically two groups of intense oral techniques. Although the Lust kisses can replace sex, they are more often used by vampires to compliment the sexual act by pushing the sexual limits beyond what is normally physically possible. Because they are peculiar to vampires, I have only listed the Lust kisses just to complete the vampire kissing techniques.
Using human anatomy to modify the Lust kisses only softens their impact to the limit of the Sexual kisses. Using some of the Lust kiss techniques to heighten the sensations requires the same rules that apply to the Vampire Sexual kisses. Provided the kisser holds respect for their partner, there is no harm in experimenting.
The Lust of the Bite
By far the sexiest of all oral contact sought by vampires is the bite and considered by vampires to be the ultimate kiss. Using their fangs is the one marker defining vampires and their sexual conduct but it has no equivalent for human beings because we are physically deficient. I have already described the bite of vampires in a previous series, but here is a summary of the main points that make the bite such an intense pleasure it drives vampires to lust.
First there is the introduction to the bite using a special kiss to the neck. The shape of the fangs dictate how the vampire bites and the sexual pleasure they seek while biting. The main attractant is the blood, and it depends on how fresh it is, as to how excited the vampire gets and how satisfying the sex.
Between vampires, the pair may bite together or have one provide the pleasure during the coupling. It doesn’t matter, in either receiving or provided the bite, the intense pleasure is shared during the encounter.
But with a human partner, it is sometimes advantageous to share psychic sex during the bite. And even with a bite to the neck, and the sex working only between the ears, no sex is safe. If the vampire stays too long to bite the same person, they convert them into a vampire.
True lust kisses
Extending from the Sexual kisses by giving more focus to the way the couple use their tongue, separates the Lust kisses from other vampire oral techniques. While Sexual kisses use the lips to increase the anticipation, Lust kisses are focused to delivering pleasure by stimulating with the vampires’ exquisite tongues. Basically, modifying a Sexual kiss so it resembles an oral version of the coital act makes the kiss a Lust kiss.
There are many reasons for love in the vampire world, and it is the female requirement for love that gives meaning to vampire love. Unlike our prospective of sentimental love and affection, the vampires see love for the power it commands more than the romance it represents. Because vampires benefit from immortality, they have eternal love, so they can use this power forever. Love in the supernatural world is male by character, and not controlled by the realm of females, but that means any female who has power over the male has dominion over the most influential of forces—love.
But there is only one female who can effectively rule over a male vampire, and she is his wife.
The Wife
The wife status in the supernatural world of vampires has no parallel. In the human world, marriage is often seen as restrictive and reducing the power of a woman, but this is the exact opposite in the preternatural domain. Vampires do not marry other vampires, because vampire marriage is not merely a vow of faithfulness but a transformation into another entity.
Vampires are already supernatural so the bite and all the consequences of using their fangs doesn’t alter their state of being but enhances the powers they have. When a male vampire bites a woman and converts her into a vampire, she is not only his wife but a creature endowed with all the capacity of love, from her human existence, and all the power over sex from her new vampire state. She is not his helpmate but a force to be reckoned with.
It is in the interest of the male then to choose wisely the woman he wants as wife. The bite is irreversible and the creation of a new being more powerful than himself is one very good reason he needs to love her—really love her. And it’s also a good idea (for him anyway) if she loves her vampire before his fangs separate her from the mortal world forever.
In my novel, the implications of the bite is the major factor delaying the fang action of marriage but Marie so much fears her mortality she sees the conversion more akin to a caterpillar changing to a butterfly than a fatal mistake. While she waits, the females give her the title of wife but without the power the station commands, she is very aware of how easily the females can usurp her. Marie’s only hope is to love Vincent—truly love him—and when she starts to learn of vampire love, she realizes the power available to her.
Female Factor
Females borne vampires don’t have control over love like wives, but forming an alliance with a wife in the collective gives those vampires loyal to her access to wifely power. With a psychic link to the wife, the female vampires can derive energy from the mysterious power of love and gain sexual access to the male she’s married to. The females must do this carefully, because the wife won’t accept any challenge to her, and with the might of love at her disposal, the wife has all the supernatural powers available to protect her status. Only another wife would dare challenge a wife in the vampire realm. In my novel, there are a few wives who do not want to accept Marie’s rise to the status of wife and they set plans in motion against her. If Marie becomes the wife of Vincent, then she will govern all the other wives, who have since lost their males, and therefore lost some of their social rank.
Male Domain in Love
So if the love capacity of a human being makes the vampire wife so powerful, then what’s in it for the bad boys of the supernatural world? After all, if a male vampire knows biting his one true love will create a more powerful vampire, and the idea does tend to make him think twice about biting, how does this benefit him?
Love he has for his wife determines how much control he has in his world. The male vampire has the disadvantage of teeth designed for sex, making them ineffective for feeding on humans, so he relies on hunting females to prevent starvation. To eat he has to pay for blood with sex and this often threatens his tenuous relationship with the females, because he is the true vampire—taking all and giving little in return. With a wife, and her respect, he can afford to relax the rules and even make demands of his own. The love of his wife returns to him authority over the females. Channeling her influence gives him power over all things both real and intangible. A little love is then worth searching for.
True power in the supernatural world comes from harnessing and directing love. So what is the love the vampires use? Up next is the ultimate form of vampire love and how-to identify it.
