I like to think that we have profiles for a reason, and being able to add what we want to them and to customize them to reflect our personalities is beneficial in a way where people can get a sense of who we are as individuals. Maybe to some that may seem like a waste of time or just pointless but I happen to find it very useful because it enables us to interact with certain people who might have similar interests to our own just from that person having their profile fit their individual personality.



I guess where I'm going with this is.. say you're browsing who's online and you see a person who looks like someone you might be interested in chatting with, BUT when you go to their profile and you don't even bother to read it. I find that to be a waste of my time and a waste of yours because here you are going in blind in a conversation with a person you know absolutely nothing about. BUT if you had at least read that persons profile you might know if that person is someone you could have a conversation with.



Again, I guess where I'm going with that is.. I have my profile the way it is for a reason, with interests and things I enjoy so that anyone with similar interests or likes to my own can spark up a conversation or I can do the same with them if that is something they'd like. Because if we have nothing of similar interests most likely we'll have nothing to talk about which will only make our conversing a waste of both our times.



So to put it bluntly, if your profile says nothing about you I can almost promise you I won't bother to message you. And if you think reading my profile will be a waste of time then messaging me will be too. I can't have conversations with people I have nothing in common with, plain and simple. It's not an impossibility, but I can guarantee you it will probably lead nowhere. And none of that two to three word reply nonsense. That's just lazy. If you're going to talk to me, then talk. No bull shit. Share opinions. Share interests if that's what you want. Just be civil and respectful of each other and we'll be square.
