Personal Writing Pattern

I've just noticed that all of the poems I'm sharing on here so far have 12 lines. I'm sure that if I sat and analyzed them more thoroughly, I could find more similarities (besides them all being about love, although different people). I just thought I'd point out my little observation. Most of my other poetry is in this scheme as well, but some with 13, others 14, and some more epical. Random thought...

Burning Desire

08:08 Sep 12 2005
Times Read: 562

My heart is at such unrest,

whilst I'm sitting here, waiting for you.

I feel as if it may split in half.

I'm writhing here, wondering if you'll ever realize

the fire that is burning in my eyes,

the fire that burns for you.

You may know it one day,

but by then, it may be too late.

I may be gone, without you having shed a tear.

I may have moved on, hiding from my heart in fear.

In fear of having it split in two.

All because of my desire for you.

Undaunted Shackles

00:48 Sep 11 2005
Times Read: 567

My heart struggles to remain

patient while you find the words.

This mystifying sensation that

inside me you have stirred-

keeps these breath-taking moments

insatiable until the end.

The inevitable finale leaves

a sardonic taste in my mouth.

If it were up to me,

I could keep you forever.

But alas- my shackles should

be able to endure so much.

Dancing in the Ashes

00:28 Sep 11 2005
Times Read: 570

Time slowed down for us

so why did you try to kill it so soon?

Why did you attempt to put it below you-

try to bring it down to the ground?

Why didn't you just send those flowers into flame

so instead of trembling amongst the dying roses,

we could be dancing in the ashes.

The ashes of our past, our future, our present...

The roses never stood for love-

they stood for existance- in its' entirity.

So why would you allow us to exist fearfully together

Rather than alone in the shadows?
