When life and love and death embrace

02:27 Mar 15 2007
Times Read: 737

When life and love and death embrace,

Where do the shattered pieces lay?

Of loves and loss and lies to trace,

When mouths have lost the words to pray.

What happens then to innocence?

What happens to all these?

Where do the great loves go to die,

When wanting to be free?

When drunken lips no longer speak,

And never seep amour,

When callous tears erase the years,

You thought you’re living for.

When life and love and death embrace,

The pieces can’t be sewn,

To fit the world they’re living in,

Too shattered and alone.

Used

02:17 Mar 15 2007
Times Read: 739

There are secrets in the night that’s faded,

They’re overrated,

Jealous,

Jaded…

And in the morning light that’s shaded,

They’re somehow traded.

Over you.

Eager hands that softly touch me,

Sending shivers,

Not too much…

… please…

And in the light that breaks the dusk,

You’ve left me broken...

Though un-bruised.

But still I stay here,

Forever lay here,

Your toy to play, dear…

But not unused.

Underneath

02:16 Mar 15 2007
Times Read: 740

Underneath a cloak of wine I told him.

Under everything we’d built.

Lips quenched with wine, swollen in sin;

‘I don’t love you’.

Alcohol lingers on my tongue,

Bottle’s empty under my hand,

Cold brick behind me with no fire rung,

Like my heart that seeps the sand.

I sit, like a child; my head in my hands,

Disarrayed in the tears that I bleed,

While he holds me so closely to clean every strand,

As Love proves to know no boundaries.

Every tear a wish of a wish to take back,

But “I love you’s” could never repair,

Like the snowflakes that fall from my eyes in the black,

Written as cold words in the air.

Underneath a cloak of wine I heard him.

Underneath everything we’d built.

Lips quenched with wine, swollen from kisses;

His ‘I love you’.

Sweet Things

02:14 Mar 15 2007
Times Read: 741

Lips have never tasted love like mine.

You are my first.

Surplus words have aged as bitter wine,

Though cuts the hurt.

Laying on your chest,

Muted candles catch my eye.

Never telling secrets from my night.

Every raising breath and beating pause,

My heart aches as it breaks…

You are my plight.

My hero and antagonist;

Paralleled.

With every good intention,

And farewell.

While intoxicated with sweet imaginings,

Too helpless to let go of such sweet things.

Drunken Dreams

02:12 Mar 15 2007
Times Read: 742

Drunken dreams still follow her,

A fading solemn tone,

Tear stained sheets embrace her cheeks,

So quiet and alone.

Imprints in the pillow there,

Trigger memories,

While dying roses linger still,

She didn’t want all these.

Eyes that cannot shed amour,

Lips that whisper song,

Hearts that loved a love so pure

Were never proven wrong.
