So i woke up yesterday and brushed my teeth then used mouthwash. It was at this point I realized something was off.So I woke up today and everything I eat or drink seems like the left side of my mouth/lips area is having issues with muscular movements, I really hope I didnt some how mess up the nerves in my mouth in my sleep.

It is called Bells Palsy.Sorry to hear you have it.It is caused by the Herpes virus .There are a couple of other causes but those are very rare.they probably put you on Predizone?.It should help.

actually the most common way of getting it is if youve had chicken pocks as a kid, as well as it can be caused by lyme disease.
Its not the one you named because I know for a fact i do not have that. however I did have chicken pox in the 7th grade so most likely its from that.if its not bells then its from a minor stroke which would be odd since my face is the only symptom I have on it lol

Chicken pox is caused by a type of Herpes virus known as Varicella Zoster virus (VZV).And yes,Bell's Palsy is a latent side affect of Chicken Pox,but in some rare cases can be an inflammation as a result of Lyme disease.

I doubt it was a stroke. If that was the case, they would have been able to tell with a CT scan and they would have given you medication right away.It is essential to get this treatment within 2 hours of the stroke to prevent any further or permanent damage.

yeah if I had other side effects of a stroke I would have been taken to the er to be checked.though due to no weakness and it being localized to my face it was dismissed

Exactly.did they give you some Predizone or an antiviral such as aclivor? They want to get the swelling in the Crannial nerve to go down ,this is the cause of the facial paralysis. One side is affected correct? Hopefully it will pass completely with no residual affects, but you might have some.It should clear up in about 2 to three weeks or so depending.
