Yes, it certainly is a sick onsession. They some how still seem to think that I care about how much E-Negative Honor they give to me daily. Yup, I certainly have given out negative honor to that particular group of obsessed people. But not nearly as much as they have given to me daily. I still laugh as I see the numbers get higher and higher every day.

I'll speak for myself and my 'group' if there is one. I am an adult and act very much like an adult. The adult thing to do here would be to make this site enjoyable for yourself, what ever that means. If you dont like reading all of the "high school" bs...dont read it. It obviously is not a joy for you. I hate to tell you but there has always and will always be drama where groups of people come together, be it here or any where else.



If you are sick of something you cant control, why let it bother you? Why have an emotional investment in other people actions and interactions?



Make this place what you want it to be for you, not what you think of what it should be for everyone else. Because in the end...



We are all sick of one thing or another.

People are going to do what they feel is right at the time. There are others who get under our skin, but are they really worth it? I don't think so. I like using honor to leave cool comments to friends and they way I like to every day by my own hand.



The top and bottom will change. If people weren't so obsessed with who was on top and had enough friends that were as stubborn as they were giving positives as they dished out negatives then maybe the top would look different.

I couldn't agree more. I was talking about this yesterday with a friend about my main that's up there. It's nice to know so many care about you, but all the negative outweighs that good feeling you get. And those nasty comments they leave.. It's just not worth it.

You already know what I think. It defines nothing except who knows how to read and use a keyboard.

I would certainly hope it does not define friendships for people. If it does, people I have known for years, and spent time with even offline would be assuming I don't really like them. I've been giving "Vampire Rave Honor" to people who are a part of my volunteer work here, or a part of me getting here- it doesn't mean other friends of mine aren't honorable. As for me deciding to give all my next Honor today to a retired Marine- that's very personal, and any person who has a beef with that can feel free to never talk to me again.



We all have different criteria, and like for me, it might have nothing to do with how others view it. There are people who affect my life here in a great way, but not a Vampire Rave way. I'm mostly supporting a team effort many here aren't connected with. I only have five whacks at it- and it hasn't been a game for me to make sure the names on the top ten are the ones I want.



Expecting Numerical Honor to prove friendship, to me, equates to lack of honor.

I would hope the people I am friends with know they mean more to me then any number on a site. Or status on the same site.



But if I can gift them honor, then I will. Or the people I think have done a lot for the site. Like Elder Daniel. I have never 'meet" the man online , or talked to. But his Member's Article for Whelps, basic code items, is on my list to honor.



Friends, people who help the site, give time to the site- are the ones I spend my on. And some of those folks I don't even talk to.

I agree a number left on the Internet could never define a friendship! Heh! it's ridiculous people could even suggest that, however.. It would show support for a friend, or simply convey the message that you cared enough to do it in the first place.

I am just honoured to have the few Honour points I have right now. I neither expect, nor need any more than that.



In my opinion, the right people are top of the Honours (at this moment in time), although there are probably a hundered-and-one other folk here who are deserving of a mention too :P

If there is a right or wrong way to do it, everyone is screwed. I am doing it the way I am doing it because I have to. I have all these expectations and hopes for the way I am going to use it as the top administrator, it's really uncomfortable and I totally hate the feeling I am getting from some people about it. If my name needs to be in someone's Honor log to prove friendship, it isn't friendship- it's a show. Friendship and Honor points are not synonymous.

I agree you can't prove or define a friendship by these honour points it would be nuts if someone did that! it shows you care for the person though for whatever reason. I have been fortunate to have so many lovely messages left..it leaves a real buzz :)

It does leave warm fuzzies when someone is nice about it. Still though, it doesn't define the true person you're giving or taking from.

It never could either. I have had a ton of negative honour, and now insults... It just shows the crap that goes on in people's minds. Findamentally though if the honour was all good, it would essentially mean the system is flawed. Whoever heard of a President being elected without opposition!

When I give honor, I give it to people who have touched my life in some way or another.



Either through kind words, helping advice, or making the time spent here worth while.



I have given negative honor because of how someone's actions have effective either myself or how I felt about one's negativity.



Other than that, there is no real "reason" I give people my honors. It's more of how I feel at the time and how they have made an impact on either my life or time spent here.

I also do not think it has anything to do with defining one's relationships here on VR. I have friends who haven't shared honor with me and vice versa simply because we don't need a statistic telling us where our friendships are. We already know where they are and are content with it.

That's actually pretty silly and childish. But, hey, even with so much dishonor, you're still one of the top. That says a lot for your character and the type of person you are. It means you're awesome. :]

It's important to give something back to people who are your friends, and you get that warm buzz of love when you do... A bit like giving a Christmas gift to a friend, but I agree you have to have devious motives to do what someone continues to do with your honour points.

It's funny - I had very similar thoughts. Because Cancer has restricted it to just five times a day, it counts for so much more. So I've paid attention to whom I give it and I guess that's when I realized, 'Hmm, I hope I've been kind enough to a few people who will be inclined to acknowledge it through the honor.'
