The night had a chill in the air as clouds rolled accross the moon. I walked up the pathway to the huge expanse of the house and looked around in awe at all the beautiful work that someone had painstakingly created. This was my loves's new house, he had bought it for the soul purpose for moving his family here. From the looks of it there would be plenty of room for everyone.
I knocked on a door that was made of hard wood, oak it what it looked like, and thought to myself ~There is no way someone could hear that inside~ when the door opened up slowely to prove that I was wrong in my assumption. Standing there in the doorway was my darling, the love that had taken my heart and everything within me. He took my hand and led me through the door to stand in the foyer that led into the main hall. The foyer opened up to a beautiful hall that was lain with marble for the floor of black and off white. As you stood in the entrance you faced two staircases, one on wither side of the room, leading up to the second floor. Off to the right was another entrance way leading into what appeared to be a day room of sorts. To the left, an entrance led off into another hallway.
My love, still holding my hand, led me into the dayroom. When we walked through the entrance I looked around the room, taking in all that there was to behold. The room was furnished with antiques from what appeared to be the midevil period. There were two chairs covered in red velvet sitting by a fireplace. A loveseat was centered in the middle of the room and another chair, one that had a head pillow but was where you could lay down on it, placed by the window. To the left there was another entrance that led to some unknown place. In the middle of the room, hanging from the cieling, there was a chandiler made of the finest crystals there was to be had. Oil lanterns adorned the walls every so many feet, each one having a differnt colored oil in the base. Flowers stood upon the side tables that were placed by the chairs near the hearth and on the desk that stood beneith another wall next to the entrance to where we stood. My love stood next to me studying what my reaction was to this marvelous site that was before me. l looked at him as a smile started to creep across my lips and he smiled. "So you approve then." he asked. "It is more than anything that I could have hoped for." I replied wondering what other wonders there was to explore.
He then led me through the entrance to the left of the room. We entered ino another long hallway that had oil lanters fixed every so often throughout. Upon the walls were magnificent paintings and colorful tapistries. When we reached the center of the hallway there stood a set of double doors that led outside. The doors were made of stained glass with a heavy wood trim fixing them to the wall. My love opened the doors and motioned with his hand towards the outside. "After you, love." he said. I walked through the doorway and he followed closely behind me, closing the doors as he passed through. Before me I could hardly believe what I saw. There was a beautiful garden, embedded with every kind of flower imaginable. There were tarraces with vines covering them, budding with fragrent purple blooms. My heart seemed to skip a beat just looking upon the majisty of he garden. As we made our way through I noticed benches set every so often, for one to relax on. When we approached the center of the garden, my eyes beheld the most breathtaking water fountain I had ever seen. It was approximately ten feet long and about five feet wide. In the center was the apparatus that shot water up in the air for it to fall back into the pool. As I watched the pattern of the fountian I noticed that the water changed color every now and again, not just the water shooting in the air, but the water that was still in the pool also. On each corner of the pool stood a statue, all of them women in appearance. My love noticed that I was looking at them and took my hand to lead me to the nearest one. "They are Goddesses." he said. "Each one has a purpose." I looked at him with a gleam in my eyes and asked him "What are their names and purposes?" He nodded as if he had expected me to ask that and then started to explain. "This one is called Danu. She is the Irish-Celtic Goddess of rivers, water, wells, prosperity, magick and wisdom." Again he took my hand and led me in a clockwise rotation around the pool naming and explaining each Goddess as we stood before her. "This is Flidais, Irish-Cletic Goddess of nature, forests woodlands and wild things." We continued or clockwise pattern. "This is Indu. She is the Norse Goddess of spring, erternal youth and keeper of the Golden Apples." We made our way to the last Goddess and I looked to him. "This one looks different." I said. He gave a smile and nodded "As this one should. She is a Japanise Goddess named Haniyasu-Hime. That is why the dress is different. She is the Goddess of Earth." He turned and looked at me. "All the Goddesses here protect the earth in some form of fashion and have to do with the dealings of growth. This is why they were chosen to be here. Shall we make our way back to the house then and continue our tour now?" he asked. I nodded my head in agreement, although the garden was enchanting I wished to see at least the rest of the first floor. He took my hand again in his own and led me carfully back to the double doors that led back into the hallway from which we had come.
