An American Crime

18:05 Apr 24 2009
Times Read: 620

Some of us might have had some bad childhoods through not having alot of money or alot to eat but I just watched a movie that made me see some kids have had it way worse.

There are some whose parents or foster homes abused them in many different ways that if you knew the stories inside those houses you would call nothing short of horrific.

The movie An American Crime tells the story of one of those happenings.

A girl and her sister were left with this woman while her parents traveled the carnival circuit and the older one faced unimaginable abuse at the hands of the woman.

What makes it even harder to grasp is that this actually happened.

Growing up we managed to survive but were dirt poor financially, with help from an uncle and an older couple down the street that was like surrogate grandparents we did manage.

One thing we did not have though or that I remember was abuse on us kids, sure we got spankings if we needed it but abuse was nil.

I count my blessings that things were not as bad for us as some have had it because there are all kinds of abuse that some suffer that you have no idea about unless you have honestly talked to another person and got to know what is inside them that they don't share with the world.

It's not news to me...I've heard worse Stories...you think Orphanages are great places? What part of the 19th Century leads one to think that?

There are some Orphanages in which the the orphans are forced into Child Labour, Deprived of Proper Nutrition, And are forced to Pray to God to Forgive them For being an Orphan.

How unruly and Cruel is that? Will they Ever Make a Movie about that?

How about the Children who have nowhere to live at all...and have to pick through Garbage for food and sleep in Boxes.....No matter how bad my life was or is...I always picture to 8 year olds huddled over a Trash Can Fire....and I weep...and Feel Like Those Poor Kids.

Imagine Growing up a Woman in the Middle East, They Give up their rights and Happiness at Birth...

Maiming Circumcissions, Child Marriages, Slavery, Rape and Women are always the Villain...

I've watched the news...News of a Girl that has Acid thrown in her face because she had the Audacity to go to school. and just last night I saw the story of a 13 year old girl that was sold a middle aged man for marriage. She protested this and Set herself On Fire...She showed the reporter the horrible Burns she still has on her....and still she was taken to a hospital...had surgery done...and when she was better...sold her to the older man anyway...she was eleven years old.

So...yeah...theres always some one worse off.

I did a movie review on that movie in the coven Duality magazine. It was very tragic and more so because it was a true story.

Yep I remember the review. :) You telling about it was reason wanted to see what it was about exactly and last night found it on the dollar rack and grabbed it so could watch it. I am glad you warned me it would not be easy to deal with watching it but still found it horrified me even more than ever could imagine. :S

Today's not the best day but then days have not been so great for a while anyway.

I had an appointment earlier and things did not go so well.

It's hard to deal with stuff and lots is kept inside me that I either feel I can't let out or just will not open up like I used to a bit.

I wish there was a way to..............

First class, Second Class, Third Class.........

02:08 Apr 16 2009
Times Read: 658

Some in this world seem to take pleasure in making others feel like second or third class citizens.

Why they do this is hard to say inwardly that is, outwardly I am sure it is because they think they are so much better than some of us because they have a little more and have had more luck or success at life.

Some of us who don't have so much or ones who have gone on before us that did not have so much really are not as much the lowlife as some try to make us feel like we are or like they treat us like we are I should say.

There are many in life that try to keep others down like they are locked behind a gate separated from those that are classified as first class.

Many times in history this same event has happened more times than many either want to remember or wlil let on about.

I wonder when did it happen that it was decided first class would have control over just about everything and be able to tell others they just were not good enough to even spit on if they were on fire.

Why does time and people keep allowing this to happen?

I know alot of it might be up to the second or third class citizen to make it better themselves but seems most time even though they are honest and work their butt off and prove themselves to be loyal and trustworthy the only way the first class will even think they are worth being around is if they have made themselves first class to boot.

Not all of us that are not first class are dirt just because we ended up having bad breaks in life or did not have the brains or money to make something better of ourselves than just a dishwasher or janitor or what have you......

Sometimes it isn't because a person does have more, that they oppress and taunt others--but rather, that they wished they had more. And by making that other person feel lesser, they create in themselves the illusion of being better, or more of a person.

It could be any sort of complex, really. And the one thing it is for sure, is awful.

There's a lot of second or third class citizens that are first class people, and many first class citizens that don't even have souls.

Someone Who Has Taught So Much

04:33 Apr 15 2009
Times Read: 672

There are qualities about this person that I admire strongly. I don't really open up about what I am thinking of or feeling too often or to many and probably should more but that is just me.

When you find someone in this world that makes such an impression on your or influences you then somehow you should let them know before it is too late.

By too late I mean before either of you cease to exist in this world and you leave it with regrets that you did not tell them.

Despite the fact that life might have dealt them some difficulties in different areas this person is a real go getter. They are one of the hardest workers I have ever known taking up each task whether it be here at VR or home as if it was an imperative one.

I know I probably will never be that focused as they are but it is not from their lack of trying to instill it in me to work harder.

There is though a deep admiration and respect and love for this person who I think the world needs more of.

I hope that somehow I will develop the drive they have and be able to end up making them proud of me with just a fraction of the pride I hold for them.

Many of us have tried to just slide through life with all of our faculties and/or physical abilities intact while others who might not have the full capability end up outshining us all.

This person is one of those who has outshone so many others yet never really sings out their own praises until they are forced to.

When I wrote this I sincerely and honestly meant every single word of my writing........

Getting Old?

16:32 Apr 10 2009
Times Read: 679

I guess this has happened to alot of people so it's nothing new.

This morning I was on a different computer than normal and Trillian is loaded on it.

Trillian for ones that don't know about it let you have all your instant messenger services loaded on one program.

Anyway a message popped up and started talking to me.

I answer back but thinking who are you ? Do I know you?

But after talking a little bit more I realise it is an old friend from years ago from another life.

The experience started out weird but was nice to see someone had not seen in forever that was just my friend.

Finally though when they brought up msn chats I had to ask where exactly did we used to talk at because I could not remember for the life of me.

Can you tell I am getting old?

twitter suicide threat

19:01 Apr 04 2009
Times Read: 696

I saw this news article a bit ago that involved this thing called Twitter.

I had only heard about Twitter a few days ago and had no idea what it was until someone told me.

Apparently Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher use it and Demi Moore had some lady message her on it telling her she was going to commit suicide.

I guess through all the twitter users starting out with Moore they were able to trace the threat and got to the woman in time.

Guess even though some things can be something one person dislikes in the world of technology to another it can be their saving grace.
