Rhapsody



~~~ Night's Calm ~~~



With the silhouetted waves

And the rising red moon

I write



Serenity of the water

Kindness of the breeze

Subtle passing of beams from the house of light



Stars watch as silent witness

As lovers make their harmonies

Smoothness of the clouds



And as the singer sings

And the poet dreams

All is well beneath the moon and stars.

Fighting the Maelstrom

Guided by gulls

Rocking and pitching

Sails full of rain

Spray of the sea

And the salt of the spray

Cleanses the soul

Of impurities of the flesh

Storm clouds swarm

Last blinking light, vanished

In the calm of the storm

Is where I'd find peace

Unhinged gleam

Murky and lifeless

Mapped signs

Torrents on the seas

Cat's stare

Swinging doors

Dark, threatening

On the horizon

Beams of new life

Take hold once more
