To respond to some who have asked I got the Moderna COVID-19. I am going to post this as I think it explains all about the vaccines:
Just my thoughts on this whole issue of Covid looking at both sides: The way in which the disease got politicized across the world (it's not just the US) conditioned some reactions and responses that I think might not have happened otherwise. Polio is a good counter-example. At its height, people were really sensitive across the board to the risk of it even if the iron-lung level of consequence was relatively rare, and especially families whose kids were athletic with aspirations in that direction. If the political hierarchy in the US and elsewhere had said forthrightly, "look, the long-term consequences are rare but very serious, mask up and limit your exposure", I think some of the people who've rejected masking would have accepted it. Once it got mapped against serious divides within global populations, it was all over.
Counterpoint: Seat Belts. 'The long-term consequences of an accident are rare but very serious, buckle up and limit your exposure' has been similar to the marketing campaign for decades. It was only when we mandated their use that people changed their behavior.
I don't necessarily agree with making it "mandatory" to get vaccinated as such, but that doesn't mean both government and private entities can't make your life impossible if you don't have, say, a vaccine pass. Don't want a vaccine? Cool! Also, we'll arrest you if you go out in public.
Look at India and what is happening there.
Friday I received the 2nd Dose of the covid-19 vaccine. Today, I will entertain you all with details of my suffering:
11:15 am arrive at the clinic, after about 10 min wait I got my 2nd vaccine.
1:30 pm arm is getting sore and a knot at the injection site is starting to form.
2 pm take two Tylenol, arm at the shot site is red like a bee stung me and the knot know is about the size of a large quail egg.
5:00 pm starting to feel chills. My arm is REALLY hurting now so I get out the ice pack, ice it, and lay down.
7 pm feeling hot and cold with a slight headache.
9 pm I take more Tylenol and try to ice the goose egg size lump on my arm.
Later that night.....
I Fall asleep and wake up during the night and spent the next 15 hours assuming the fetal position and waiting for the sweet release of death. The whole delt was just kicking like crazy and I had weird nausea/acid stomach thing, so I slept in fits, getting up at least once an hour to hydrate and take a mild antacid...12 hours of fitful naps.
Woke up Sunday afternoon feeling fantastic!
I am glad I have both of the vaccines over with. I would happily go through it all again. In the US, yearly COVID-19 vaccine shots will likely be the norm for the foreseeable future given the amount of international travel the US receives and the level of vaccine hesitancy in this country. So in the meantime, I wear my mask in the same way I did before getting vaccinated.

I am glad your feeling better, seems like that's the norm for the second round of vaccine according to others who have gotten it.
I'm curious, what flavor of vaccine did you get? I'm getting my second dose of Pfizer on Wednesday and I'm a bit apprehensive about it.
I got the Moderna vacine and had the same thing, but I wasn't in the fetal position, I had aches and pains but treated it like I had the flu. Was fine 2 days after my vaccine, but suffered from a headache for 4 straight days. I still think I have issues as I have constant head colds now after receiving the shot. But like you, I'll gladly get a booster shot if it will keep this shit under control. I call this the new Flu. Seems our numbers increase right around flu season.
Update on Ripley. She has been diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder and PTSD. She has been prescribed Ativan, Hemp chews, and I got her a Thunder coat. Ripley is a rescue dog that was abused by her previous owner. She is only 14 lbs and was kicked, thrown, and hit all the time. What set her off this time as we live near a Military Base and for the past week, they have been doing war games. I could hear it in the distance but the Vet said dogs have an acute hearing so for her it was louder. There were periods during the day almost every 20 min there was a boom in the distance from tank fire. I knew storms scared her and she would tremble/shake. This time though it was different. She would pant, shiver, and wanting to hide in my closet. It was very bad. Now though she is doing a lot better. The Vet also recommended taking her to a training class so I am going to sign her up for that at PetSmart. She also freaks when I leave her so I have started taking her to work with me and everywhere she would be allowed to go.
Now, to tell you I am so angry with the asshole who abused this little dog is an understatement. I just don't get it. I have never understood animal abuse. The guy was about 300lbs and Ripley when we got her was only 12 lbs. The guy was also abusive towards his live-in Girlfriend who gave us Ripley before he killed her. I will do all I can for Ripley to help her recover from the abuse she lived under for a few years. I want the rest of her years to be the best this little dog has ever had.

Hugs my bro.....you are a great daddy!!!!
Perhaps something bigger than him should abuse him and give him a taste of his own medicine.
Sitting here waiting on the Vet's office to open up. My little dog, Ripley, is not well. She is shaking, panting, and just wanting to hide. At the moment she is in my closet with the door cracked so I can see her. Not sure what is going on. If they only could tell us, right? Tuesday she started trembling but she does this when she sees a fly in the house, thunderstorms, and such. Then she got fine again till last night about 6 pm and I was up most of the night with her. Not sure what is wrong. She is only 7 years old. Anyhow, 45 min till the vet opens. She is such a sweet little girl with tons of personality, well every furbaby is special. I hope it is nothing serious. This is my little girl. We had just come home from the Groomers and they had accidentally taken her mohawk off. I was a little upset because she looks so cute with it. It will grow back and planning on using a different groomer next time.

She is a fighter like her dad
She will be ok baby. She has you
Hugs you both
Thanks, hon. Thanks for always being here for me. I love you so much. I think it's not knowing what is wrong with here that makes me worry so much. She is normally such a happy dog and full of life. Now she is not feeling ok. Her wanting to hide in my closet with the shaking, panting scares me because she has never done this before. Course I googled her symptoms. That is the wrong thing to do because there is a whole range of stuff it could be and I focus on the worst in the list. 8:33, about 30 more minutes till the Vet opens.
Oh hugs hun I hope you find out what is wrong and they can help her.....
Hope all is well with your pup.
