Once upon a time, there lived a young maiden. Her skin a creamy white, and her eyes as silver as the moon. Her hair flowed long down her back. And oft’ she played by the river’s edge from dawn till’ twilight. But this young maiden fair had never known true happiness. For her mother was ill, and her foster parents hid her from all the world and all it’s wonders. Try as she might, she was always bound and chained in both secret and misery. For everyone has a secret. And everyone has a curse. The maiden’s secret was her most dreadful curse. So down by the river’s edge, one blistery, cold winter’s eve, she met a young lad. His hair as black as night, and his eyes as green as the sea. He bowed kindly and smiled warmly, as warm as the sun. The maiden had never known anyone so kindhearted. When she asked his name, he replied, “Luck”. He asked for her name, and she told him, “Luna”. From then on, the two met in secrecy, and spent the night, side-by-side, under the stars. He told her many stories and legends, sung to her many songs and ballads. And in return, she gave him three gifts. The first, a simple gold ring. This ring, however, allowed it’s bearer to tslk to her through voice of mind . The second, was a gilded cloak, made of the dawn’s first golden rays. Whom-ever placed this upon his shoulders, would never feel cold. And the third gift, was a compass, which always led you back to the ones you love. They met every night for one week. But on the next night, Luna never came. Luck waited for her all night, but found her not. So he called upon her first gift to him, and spoke, “My dear, Luna, where are you love?” Her response came quick and as a whisper on the gentle breeze, “In the sky, Luck.” With this Luck grew confused, so he waited another hour. That night was mid-winter, and incredibly cold. So he called upon the second gift Luna gave him, the gilded cloak. He was warmed immediately from head to toe. SO he waited longer. The night was so dark he could barely see. Luck looked up to the moon. As he gazed into it’s soft silver light, he called upon her third, and final gift. The compass needle slid off the compass and grew to the perfect size for him to ride. Once he was upon the needle, it flew to the moon. When Luck arrived, he found a beautiful garden of silver and white flowers. Tending to these precious moon flowers, was Luna herself! Luck and Luna lived happily ever after in their lunar moon garden. The end!
