Blood was a Japanese rock band that was active between 2002 and 2009. Blood's aim was to create music that expresses the meaning of human emotion that breaks the musical frame. They were closely associated with Japan's visual kei culture, but they refered to themselves as a gothic band.

They have toured in Japan, Europe, the United States, Mexico and Australia. They're one of the first Japanese bands to tour in Australia

Blood has separate periods defined by changing concepts.These include the first three periods, the french poetry concept and The Symphony of Chaos.


The third period had a vampie concept. This concept featured a trilogy of albums that followed a vampire story much in the vein of Anne Rice's novals. The story was penned entirely by lead vocalist Fu~ki and music writing handled soley by Kiwamu. This trilogy of albums were called "Vengeance For Blood".

Besides their vampire concept, Blood's outfits tend to show off a dark vampire theme. And some of their music videos like "Sweetest Disease" and "The Funeral For Humanity" showed vampire elements like biteing of the neck and sleeping in coffins.

Blood also performed a remix version of their 1st period song "Blood" with Exo-Chika from Aural Vampire on "The Reaper Behind Me" album.

It was announced on November 20, 2008 through their official My Space page that Blood will cease to tour and release any new albums after their 2009 album "Lost Sky" and their final tour, entitled "La Fin de la Journee"
